THE MOSQUE OF SABILAL MUHTADIN

The mosque of Sabilal Muhtadin is located in the center of city of Banjarmasin. Sabilal Muhtadin is the name of a book authored by the great scholar Shaykh Muhammad al-Banjary Arsyad (1710 - 1812) who his life was dedicated to deepen and develop Islam in the kingdom of Banjar.

The mosque is built on an area of 100.000 square meters. Its building from walls, floors, tower, and plaster plaza is entirely covered with marble.

In total manner, this largest mosque in Kalimantan is able to accommodate 15.000 worshipers from the inside of the building and outside of the building.

This Mosque is equipped with Sabilal Muhtadin Islamic School form nursery level - kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high scholl so that the mosque is also a center of education

Beside the mosque Sabilal Muhtadin, there is also a Forest City and many big trees with lush leaves make the atmosphere cool if you're there.
